AI & Employment Tracker
A continuously maintained record of how artificial intelligence is changing employment, including layoffs, hiring, non-backfills, attrition, wages, job creation and other measurable labor-market effects.
How is artificial intelligence changing human employment?
The AI & Employment Tracker documents measurable changes in employment associated with the implementation of artificial intelligence.
We track not only announced layoffs, but also the less visible ways AI can change demand for human labor: reduced hiring, positions that are not backfilled, workforce reductions through attrition, changes in wages and entry-level opportunities, and jobs created by AI.
Our standard is evidence. A layoff at a company that uses AI is not automatically an AI-caused layoff. Wherever possible, we look for company disclosures, executive statements, employment data and other evidence establishing the relationship between AI implementation and the employment change being recorded.
